Betty H. Fortner

Betty Jane Fortner, 86, of Gastonia, passed away March 8, 2015, at Peak Resources of Gastonia. She was born May 16, 1928, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Clayton and Effie Hooks. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by granddaughter, Amber Clemmer; 5 brothers; and 1 sister. Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Bobby Clemmer, DeJuan Fortner and wife Sandra; daughters, Katherine Christian and husband James, Fritzi Broome and husband Scott; grandchildren, Michelle Manning, Jamie Christian, Necole Montgomery, Jason Christian, DaKota Fortner; and great grandchildren, Dylan Porter, Kayla Blankenship, Ayden Moss, Brinleigh Raper, and Marleigh Christian. Services are private. The family will receive friends 11-12 noon, on Tuesday, at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia.
