Betty Carpenter

Mrs. Betty Jean Matney Carpenter, beloved wife of Larry Franklin Carpenter of Clover, SC, passed away early Saturday morning, August 13, 2016 at 8:30 A.M.

She was the daughter of Theodore Taft and Lucy Matney and sister of William "Bill" Matney, all of whom are deceased.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nora Elizabeth and Pastor Jeff Williams of West Franklin Baptist Church, and her granddaughters, Jessica Elaine and Katherine Elizabeth Williams.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Jeff Williams, will be held 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at West Franklin Baptist Church, 450 S. Myrtle School Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.

The family will receive friends at the church two hours prior to the service.

Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Franklin Baptist Church, 450 S. Myrtle School Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium is serving the family.
