Betty P. Brooks

Betty P. Brooks, 76, of Bessemer City, passed away July 17, 2014 at her home. She was born October 26, 1937 in Gaston County, daughter of the late Orville Plemmons and Evie Sellers Plemmons. Mrs. Brooks was a member of Bright Light Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was a loving, devoted and forgiving wife, mother and grandmother, who was a prayer warrior especially for her family and others. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Bright Light Baptist Church, Bessemer City, officiated by the Rev. Ronnie Pressley and the Rev. James Drennan The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Mrs. Brooks is survived by: Her loving husband of 59 years, David D. Brooks; daughters, Teresa Moss of Gastonia, Sonya Dixon and husband Billy of Bessemer City; grandchildren, Jennifer Costner, Daniel Moss, Brandon Dixon; great grandchild, Blayk Moss; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by: daughter, Robin Brooks Hickman; two brothers; three sisters. Memorials may be sent to Bright Light Baptist Church Building Fund 112 White Jenkins Rd., Bessemer City, NC 28016 Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
