Betty Jean Braswell Walker

Betty Jean Braswell Walker, 87, of Gastonia, passed away April 16, 2022, at home. She was surrounded by family.

She was a native of Gaston County, the only daughter of the late Grady and Elizabeth Braswell.

She retired from Pharr Yarns after 40 years, was a devoted mother and grandmother, and enjoyed crocheting. She loved watching baseball and having a dog on her lap.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Richard Walker Sr.

Survivors include her daughter, Jean Medford of Gastonia; sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Barbara L. Walker, John and Barbara M. Walker of Gastonia, and Ricky Walker of Lowell; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service will be held 2pm on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at the Singing Tower section of Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC.

A celebration of life cookout will be hosted by John Walker at a later date.
