Betty "Mawmaw Betty" Chastain Braswell, 91, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2024, at her residence.
She was born September 22, 1932, in Swain Co, NC, daughter of the late George Washinton Chastain and Maude Hopper Chastain.
Betty retired from Homelite after 23 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter in law, Ann Cory Braswell.
Betty is survived by her sons, Larry Braswell, Benny Braswell (Karla), Tommy Braswell (Debbie), and Raymond Braswell; daughter, Shauna Hannah (Dick); 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service officiated by Reverend Justin Schultz, will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2024, 11:00 AM, at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Gastonia.
