Betty Battencourt,70, of Grover, passed away on October 8, 2018, at her home.
She was born April 15, 1948, Fayette County, PA, daughter of the late Marion Strosnider and Edna Tate.
A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm Friday, October 12, 2018, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Terry Floyd.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Battencourt is survived son, Samuel Chipps and wife, Frances Kirk; daughter, Tabathta Cline and husband, Simon; brothers, Johnny Miller, Jr. Strosnider; sister, Mary Lincoln; grandsons, Raymond, Nathen and Wesley Piper, Sebastian Chipps; granddaughter, Desirae Ship; great-grandson, Logan Piper; great-granddaughter, Zoey Thorpe.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by first husband, Theodore Chipps; second husband, Joseph Battencourt; son, Ted William Chipps; daughter, Agnes Marie Chipps.
Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
