Betsy Glaze Blackburn

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betsy Glaze Blackburn, who left us on September 7, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on March 2, 1966, in Gaston County, North Carolina, Betsy spent her life in the beautiful town of Gastonia, where she created countless cherished memories.

She found joy in the small things in life-whether it was playing chess, tending to her garden filled with vibrant flowers, or enjoying the company of her beloved dogs, Izabella and Thor. She had a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, showering them with love and making every moment spent together a treasure.

Betsy was a devoted wife to her beloved husband of 41 years, Ralph Blackburn; mother, Lorraine Glaze; children, Michael Blackburn (Sarah Jenkins), Tiffany Blackburn, and Kristi Blackburn; grandchildren, Ryleigh Autry, Camryn Blackburn, Murphy Jenkins, Zelda Blackburn, Willow Blackburn, and Declan Blackburn; sister, Dolores Pearson; brother, Joey Glaze.

Betsy was preceded in death by her dad, Kenneth Glaze; brother, Kenneth Glaze Jr; sister, Judy Glaze.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Betsy's life at a memorial service that will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Lowell Church of God. The family will receive friends starting 10:00 AM that same day.

As we remember Betsy, let's carry forward her love for life, her kindness, and her passion for all things beautiful. She will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
