Benny Ray Brooks

April 19, 1962 — June 15, 2026

Benny Ray Brooks, affectionately known as "Painter Man," left this world peacefully on June 15, 2026, at the age of 64. Born in Gastonia, NC. He embraced his vocation as a painter in the new construction industry. With a brush in hand and a smile on his face, he brought color and joy not only to homes but also to the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Benny was a larger-than-life character who made friends wherever he roamed. He never met a stranger and had a unique gift for making people laugh. A devoted family man, he cherished his siblings: Sandra Bundy, Gary Brooks, Lynn Ruppe, Billy Brooks, and Reba Bare. His bond with his family was as strong as his faith in God, to whom he willingly gave his heart. His Bible was always close at hand, and he loved to share its teachings with anyone who would listen.

Benny's passions were many; he loved to travel and walked all over the United States, discovering new places and making countless memories along the way. He was an avid baseball fan and proudly supported his favorite team, the Rams. Music echoed through his life, and he often sang tunes that uplifted spirits and brought people together.

With a generous spirit, Benny was the protector of his loved ones, always seeking to help and uplift those around him. His zest for life will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

Benny was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mary Brooks.
