Benjamin "Paul" Hager

Benjamin "Paul' Hager, 88, of Bessemer City, passed away on July 21, 2015, at his home. He was born December 1, 1926, in Gaston County, son of the late Robert Lee Hager and Ferrie Leona Froneberger Hager. Mr. Hager was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Bessemer City. He was a US Navy veteran who served in World War II. A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. on Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church 206 North 14th St. Bessemer City, officiated by the Rev. Elizabeth Toler. Military honors will be provided by the US Navy. The family will receive friends following the service at the church on Sunday. Inurnment will be private. Mr. Hager is survived by, his loving wife of over 50 years, Shirley Morrison Hager; sons, Rusty Hager, Ricky Hager and wife, Cathy; daughter, Traci Melton and husband, Kevin; sisters, Beth Harmon, Merle McKinnon and Gladys Morgan; eight grandchildren; seven great - grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, his daughters, Terri Ingle, Patti Davis, and Toni Kelly; brothers ,Clyde, Lloyd, Floyd, and Mack Hager; sisters, Eva Thompson, Kathryn Bridges. Memorials may be sent to Grace Lutheran Church P.O. Box 185 Bessemer City, NC 28016. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
