Benjamin Scott Bridges

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Benjamin "Scott" Bridges Sr., who left us on March 10, 2025, at the age of 62. He went to be reunited, with the love of his life, Paula Bridges, on their anniversary day. Born on December 26, 1962, Gaston County, NC, Scott lived most of his life in Bessemer City, where he was known as a hardworking roofer and a loving family man.

Scott had a passion for the great outdoors. He loved hunting and found joy in deep-sea fishing off the coast. An avid baseball player in his youth, he enjoyed spending time at the field, and his love of travel and history took him on many adventures. He was proud of his gun collection and could often be found sharing stories of his hobbies with friends and family.

Above all, Scott cherished his family. He is survived by his son, Ben Bridges; daughters, Aleta Ellison, Breann Bridges, and Shanna Riley; grandchildren, Leland Bridges, Zachary Bridges, Jackson Thomas, Greyson Thomas, and Stephen Lanham; brother, Mark Bridges (Becky); sister, Amanda Cartwright (Tom). He took immense pride in his grandkids, who brought him endless joy and laughter.

Scott was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Bridges; parents, Odess and Elizabeth Killian; granddaughter, Addison Lanham; sister, Tina Cammack.

A memorial service to honor Scott's life will take place on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at 3:00 PM at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation starting at 2:00 PM, where family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate the unforgettable spirit of a man who touched the lives of many.

Scott, you will be dearly missed, but your love will forever remain in our hearts.
