Ben Worthey
January 31, 1943 — October 12, 2021
Ben Worthey, 78, of Gastonia, passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.
Born on January 31, 1943, Ben was the son of the late Lawrence and Minnie Miller Worthey.
In addition to his parents, Ben is preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Christenbury Worthey; brothers, Jr. Worthey, George Worthy, Henry Worthy, and Vernon Worthey; and sister, Effie Taylor.
Left to cherish Ben's memories are his daughter, Teresa Worthey; grandchild, Amanda McCray (Justin); and great grandchild, Jace McCray.
A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Jay Price, will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Gaston Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:30 pm on Friday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium.
