It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ben "Tom" Thomas Page, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, dedicated veteran, and passionate reader, who left us on April 14, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on October 19, 1932, in Cleveland County, North Carolina, Tom lived a life rich with love and hard work, making his home in Gastonia for many years.

Tom proudly served his country in the United States Army from April 9, 1953, until March 16, 1955, achieving the rank of E-4. After his service, he became a skilled mechanic and worked for Kluttz Machine and Foundry until they closed their doors. Known for his unwavering work ethic, Tom was the kind of guy who always put his best foot forward, no matter the task.

Beyond his work, Tom was a devoted family man, adored by his wife of 70 years and 3 months, Carolyn Page. He cherished every moment spent with her and their loved ones. Also left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Debra Summitt (Danny) and Darlene Haley (Donald); grandchildren, Danny Summitt Jr (Ila), Paige Setzer (Joshua), and Kelsey Florian (Mark); great grandchildren, Leo Summitt, Brooklyn Setzer, and Ethan Setzer.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Nancy Page; siblings, Floyd Page, Sonny Page, Bobby Page, Shirley Jones, Wayne Page, and Jerry Page.

A faithful Christian, Tom found solace and community at the Dallas Church of God, where he lived out his strong beliefs and values daily.

Among his many passions, Tom was an enthusiastic reader. He loved to visit the Kings Mountain Library, where he remarkably read over 4,000 books, and that's just counting that location! Books were his escape, and he took pleasure in immersing himself in stories and knowledge.

A cherished member of his community, Tom will be missed dearly by all who knew him. Family and friends are invited to join us to celebrate Tom's remarkable life. Funeral services will be held on Monday , April 20, 2026, at Dallas Church of God, starting at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at 1:00 PM at the church.

Let's remember him for his kind heart, unwavering dedication, and the laughter he brought into our lives. Rest in peace, Tom. Your legacy will live on in the hearts of many. Condolences may be shared online at: www,greenefuneral.com.
