Beatrice Humphries Fogle

Beatrice Humphries Smith Fogle, 90, of Gastonia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 11, 2015 at Peak Resources, Gastonia. She was born January 16, 1924 in Mitchell County, Georgia daughter of the late Marvin Benton and Myrtle Bryant Benton. Beatrice loved her children and loved being Grandma "B' to all her grandchildren. She was a faithful church member of Chapel Grove Baptist Church, where she enjoyed working with the children for several years. She enjoyed her hobbies, flower gardening, square dancing, fishing, bowling and traveling. She was retired from Firestone Textiles after 33 years of service. A celebration of Beatrice's life will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Roger Overton. The family will receive friends 12:30 - 1:45 prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. Left to cherish her memories are son, L.T. Humphries Jr. and wife Shirley, their children, Jeff Humphries and wife, Kim and their children, Joshua and Matthew Humphries; Brandy Lewis and husband, Henry and their children Blake and Gage Lewis, Barbara Humphries Hallman and her children, Alec and Lee Hallman;, Jennifer Pilkington and her children Austin and Evan Pilkington; son, Ken Humphries and wife, Joyce, their children, Shane Humphries and wife, Michelle and their children, Madison and Mason Humphries, Tina Michaels and husband, Jason and their children, Shadie Marlow and Emma Michaels, Mark Humphries and wife Angie; daughter, Linda Lane and husband, Emory, their children, Angie Herron and her children, Chloe and Delaney Herron, Chad Holloway, Bryan Holloway and wife, Crystal and their children, Kayla, Aiden, Dillon, Trinity and Cole Holloway; daughter, Gail Blanton and husband, Bruce and their children, Kelly Putnam and husband, Joe and their child, Josie, Sandy and husband, Ronald Hammonds and their children, Corey and Dustin Hammonds; daughter, Connie Humphries. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands, L.T. Humphries Sr., Albert Smith, Mel Fogle; brothers, Ray and Jack Benton. Memorials may be sent to Chapel Grove Baptist Church 716 Camp Rotary Road Gastonia, NC 28052. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
