Barbara Mayberry Sharpe

Barbara Mayberry Sharpe, 85, formerly of Gastonia, NC, passed away on April 2, 2020 at Matthews Medical Center, Matthews, NC.
She was born in Gaston County, NC on April 2, 1935 to the late Jess and Edith Mullinax Mayberry.
In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Sharpe, Sr.; son James Cole, Jr.; sisters, Phyllis Hambright and Jane Osterman; and brothers Chuck, Mike, Blanchard, Jim, and David Mayberry.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Sonja Dickerson and husband Dave; brother Marshall Mayberry; grandson Lucas Earnest and wife Kim; and great-grandchildren Kayla Earnest and Ryan Earnest.
A private graveside service, officiated by Rev. Larry Laws, will be held at a later date at the Mayberry Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Novant Health Hospice and Palliative Care, PO Box 33549, Charlotte, NC 28204.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematory, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC.
