Barbara Leona Rhyne

Gastonia, NC Barbara Rhyne 1944 - 2014 Barbara Rhyne, 69, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at her residence. A Gaston County native, she was born October 3, 1944 daughter of the late John and Pauline Hall Broughton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Jackson Rhyne. Mrs. Rhyne is survived by her sons, Kenneth Broughton and fiancé Tammy Randall of Gastonia, Robert Rhyne and wife Betty of Gastonia; stepdaughter, Tammie McKenzie Coombe; brother, Rev. Andy Broughton and wife Brenda of Bessemer City; sister, Doris Dean of Gastonia; grandchildren, Robert Rhyne Jr. and Stephanie Rhyne. A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Richard Stroupe, will be held 3pm on Wednesday, August 20 at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6000 Fairview Rd., Charlotte, NC 28210. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
