Barbara Joyce Parker

Barbara Joyce Parker, 78, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

She was born November 24, 1942, in Gaston Co, NC, daughter of the late Scott Matthews and Margie Miller Matthews.

Barbara was a former member of Yorkwood Church of God. She loved crafts and her fur babies. Family would like to thank the staff, and especially the nurses at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sons, David Parker and Daryl Lamar Parker; and daughter, Donna P. Price.

She is survived by her husband of over 60 years, Johnny Lewis Parker; sons, Larry D. Story and Johnny Lewis Parker, Jr.; sisters, Margaret Cochran, Ruth Smith and Terri Hayes; and numerous grand and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service officiated by Rev. Sam Barnette, will be held 3pm on Friday, July 30, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
