Barbara Gail Mckinney Garrett

Barbara Gail McKinney Garrett, age 71, of Gastonia, passed away Friday, February 27, 2015. Daughter of the late George and Beatrice Johnson McKinney, she was born March 10, 1943 in Cherokee County, SC. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Garrett Jr.; stepson, Jeff Garrett; brother, George Dewey McKinney; and sisters, Gladys Traywick, Francis McKinney, and Faye Spurrier. Mrs. Garrett is survived by her sons, Scott Nations and wife Karen, Steve G. Nations and fiancée Lynn Bridges; stepson, Todd Garrett; daughter, Vera Morrison; stepdaughter, Pam Garrett; brother, Bob Goode and wife Linda; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm, Monday, March 2, at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia and other times at the home of Mrs. Garrett. A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Eddie McGinnis, will be held 2 pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
