Barbara Kelley Linkous

Barbara Kelley Linkous passed away early morning of January 11, 2016.  Mrs. Linkous was native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but through many transfers of her husband George William (G.W.) Linkous, ended up taking a job in Savannah, GA. It was their favorite city. Mrs. Linkous was very active in The Wilmington Island Presbyterian Church.

G.W. passed in 2009 they had chosen to be buried in the memorial garden where G.W.'s brother, Eugene Carter Linkous was buried on Sept.14, 2001.  Barbara is survived by their only child Georga Ann Linkous-Long and Larry Wayne Long, Jr. who was not just a son-in-law but her "Son".  She always introduced Wayne as her son.

Barbara is also survived by her remaining sister Dorris K. Nowry and sister-in-Laws Dottie Kelley, Sandra Oliver, Barbara N. Linkous.  Mrs. Linkous wanted to express her love for the entire Usry Family and most of all Bubba Usry and Georiga Hozey for all they have done through the years.

Barbara K. Linkous was 82. And passed on her daughter's 49th birthday a bond like no other that couldn't be broken. Even in death.

The family will receive friends 3:00 pm Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

A celebration of life service will be held 4:30 pm January 24, 2016 at Willington Island Presbyterian Church, 450 N. Cromwell Rd., Savannah, GA 31410.
