Barbara Lane

Barbara Lane, 78, of Clover, SC, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2022, at her residence.

She was born June 27, 1943, in Wise Co, VA, daughter of the late Clarence Cross and Ruby Dockery.

Barbara loved to sing for Jesus and was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Gastonia, NC. She was a great mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend. She loved her family dearly. Her wish was for her family to stay together, love one another, and meet her in Heaven. She was precious and will be missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Jackson Lane.

Barbara is survived by her sons, Roy Lane (Cindy), Dean Allen Sturgill (Amy), and James Edward Sturgill (Tracy); daughters, Melissa Smith (Phil), and Casandra Bulla; brother, Gene Cross (Barbara); sister, Janice Clark (Phil); grandchildren; Scotty Sturgill, Alyssa Sturgill. Nathan Carpenter, Zack Carpenter, Jimmy Sturgill, Krystle Seibert, Kari Faris (Brian), Cody Barker (Olivia), Kerigan Parker (Blake Phelps), Autumn Bulla (Thomas Miller), Christopher Britt (Melissa), and Adrienne Britt; honorary grandchild, Paiglan Freeman; and 17 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Eddie Carson, will be held 3 pm, Sunday, April 10, 2022, at Clover Freewill Baptist Church – 307 Valley Ave., Clover, SC.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be private.

Barbara never wanted flowers after death, she always thought you should give them when she was alive. So in lieu of flowers, please donate to First Freewill Baptist Church, Clover (Youth Choir).
