Barbara Ann Holt Hicks

Barbara Ann Holt Hicks, 82, of Cherryville, NC, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the Robin Johnson House, Dallas, NC.

She was born April 18, 1941, in Wake Co, NC, daughter of the late Charlie Clyde and Josephine Smith Holt Wellman.

Barbara was a member of South Gastonia Church of God. She loved her family, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, and sisters. She also loved celebrating the holidays, especially Christmas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hicks; and brother, Junior Holt.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Teresa Hicks; grandchildren, Beverly Ann Black, and Kenneth Shawn Hagen (Rebecca); great-grandchildren, Jonathan Lee Black, Austin Lee Black, Kristy Marie Black, and Kaden Strube; great-great-grandchildren, Madison J. Black; brother, Roger Holt; and sisters, Judy Vaughn, and Jo Ann Everidge (Robbie).

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Adrian Franklin and Pastor Bob Gilley, will be held 10am, Friday, December 22, 2023, at South Gastonia Church of God - 310 Carolina Ave, Gastonia, NC 28052.

Burial will follow the service, at 3pm at Wake Forest Cemetery - 400 N White St, Wake Forest, NC 27587.
