Barbara Jean Garrison

Barbara Jean Garrison, 77, of Ranlo, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 at Carolinas Medical Center, Charlotte.

She was born on February 18, 1944, in Mecklenburg County, to the late Carl and  Evelyn Floyd Penley.

Barbara was a member of Landmark Baptist Church, where she loved her Pastor and her church family. She and her husband were very involved in the youth ministry at Riverside Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church. She loved to sing and was involved in the music ministry her entire life.  Barbara loved to play softball and enjoyed watching all  sports.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Garrison, and sister, Patricia Stevens.

Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Greg Garrison, and Mike Cabe (Tina);  daughter, Tracy Blalock (Keith); brothers, Dennis, Keith, and David Penley; and  grandchildren, Brittany Lindsay, Lindsay Perry, McKenzie Ballinger,  Zackary, Riley, and Kylie Blalock, Amy Cabe,  Erica Coleman ; and 19 great- grandchildren.

A funeral service for Mrs. Garrison, officiated by Pastor Forrest Hennessee, will be held at 6:00pm on Friday, March 19, 2021, at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral  Service – 216 Archie Whitesides Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.

The family will receive friends from 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.

A private family graveside service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont.
