Barbara Farris

Barbara Hollifield Farris, 74, of Dallas, passed away on October 10, 2016, at home.

ALS crippled her body and took her life, but never once did it cripple her faith.

She was born June 16, 1942, in Mitchell County, NC, daughter of the late James Hollifield and Mary Norton Hollifield.

A celebration of life will be held 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Mt. Beulah Baptist Church, 5306 Dallas Cherryville Hwy. Bessemer City, officiated by her grandson, Austin Farris and Pastor Fain Farmer.

The family will receive friends 2:00 – 2:45 p.m. prior to the service on Thursday at the church.

Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

Left to cherish her memories are husband of 53 years, Ray Farris; son, Darren Farris and wife Selina; grandsons, Austin and Seth Farris; sisters, Cathy Finger and husband Jim, Judy Turner and husband Dwight; sister-in-law, Kaye Hollifield.

She was preceded in death by her son, Eric Farris; brother, Mike Hollifield.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
