Barbara Ann Buckner

Barbara Ann Buckner, 78, of Gastonia, passed away peacefully at her home on April 27, 2023.

She was born November 1, 1944, in Haywood County, daughter of the late Paul Hoglen and Connie Surrett Hoglen.

Barbara deeply loved her family and was devoted to all of them. She enjoyed cooking for them and loved to go fishing.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Monday, May 1, 2023, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Odell Cook.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 2-3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Norman Buckner; sons, Scott Buckner and wife Hope, Ronnie Buckner and wife Tina, Chris Buckner and wife Angela, Richard Buckner and Carla Westover; grandchildren, Scottie Buckner, Kyle Buckner, Jessica McGinnis, Joshua Buckner, Jessica Shorey, Nathan Huskey, Justin Willis, Corey Hayes, Aaron Buckner, Jonah Buckner, Gabrial Buckner, Samuel West; six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her daughter, Sheila Buckner Cherry; brother, Fred Brown; sister, Vicky Duckett Smith.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service located at 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia.
