Barbara Bryant

Gastonia, NC Barbara Bryant, 65, passed away October 5, 2013, at Caromont Regional Medical Ctr., Gastonia. She was born February 7, 1948 in Gaston County, son of the late Arthur H. and Kate Shires Gibson. Barbara was a devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church, Gastonia. She was the church librarian and conducted a reading program every year for the children of the church, who loved her very much. She was the founder of CBC Quilters, who supplied homemade quilts for the NIC Unit at Gaston Memorial Hospital. She was a US Marine Veteran. A celebration of life service will be held 4 pm on Friday at Calvary Baptist Church, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Josh Glandon. The family will receive friends 2-4 pm prior to the service on Friday at the church. Interment is private. She is survived by: her loving husband of 32 years, Ernie Bryant; sisters, Patricia Baliles, Teresa Moore, Gail Hall; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; her best friends, Michelle Keener, Brenda Messer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her son, Jonathan Keith Stroupe; brother, Michael A. Gibson.
