Barbara Ann Brown

Barbara Ann Brown, 78, of Gastonia, passed away April 6, 2017 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center.

She was born February 4, 1939 in Gaston County, the daughter of the late Edd Brodus Brown and Lillie Belle Pilkington Brown.

Barbara loved her family and never met a stranger.  She loved to negotiate to get the best bargain.

Left to cherish her memories are her twin sister, Jo Ann Burroughs; son, Jeffrey Scott McElrath; daughters, Robin Smith and husband Ken, Bobbie Young and husband, David; grandchildren, Ian Yazell, Elle Peterson, Jeff McElrath, Sarah Bess, Allison McElrath and Abigail Young and great-grandson, Chandler Grayson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Todd McElrath and great-granddaughter, Isabella Grace Peterson.

The family will receive friends 1 – 2:30 pm on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

Burial will be private.
