Barbara Ann Bradshaw Gibson

Barbara Ann Bradshaw Gibson, 71, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024, at her residence.

She was born October 31, 1952, a native of Gaston Co, NC, daughter of Mary Smith Bradshaw, and the late Johnnie Marshall Bradshaw.

Barbara was a secretary for more than 40 years at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. Most of those years were spent in pastoral care as a secretary, but she continued her education and received her master's degree in theology from Gardner Webb. She then became a chaplain at the hospital before retiring due to health reasons. Barbara was a member of City Church.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Danny Bradshaw, and John "Ed" Bradshaw.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 54 years, Charles Gibson; sons, Charles Gibson, III (Ewelina), and Benjamin Gibson; sister, Teresa Harbin; and grandchildren, Daniel Gibson, Hannah Gibson, Michael Gibson, and Jessie Gibson.

A celebration of life service officiated by Pastor Dickie Spargo, will be held 5pm, Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
