Barbara Lynn Bell

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Bell, beloved wife of Jimmy Bell, who left this world peacefully. Barbara's love and warmth will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Barbara dedicated many years of her life to serving others. She was a skilled phlebotomist at Lab Corp, where she touched the lives of countless patients. Prior to her time at Lab Corp, she worked at Caromont Regional Hospital, exemplifying her commitment to the healthcare field.

A devoted member of Grace Baptist Church in Gastonia for thirty years, Barbara was actively involved in church activities, particularly serving the Senior Citizens with compassion and grace. Her faith and service were central to her life, and she cherished the community she found at her church.

In her personal life, Barbara enjoyed the simple pleasures of camping with her beloved husband, Jimmy. Their adventures together were filled with joy and laughter, a testament to their enduring love. She also leaves behind to cherish her memories are her son, Shannon Tate (Krissy); daughter, Angel Tate; grandchildren, Mitchell Johnson, Taylor Johnson, Traic Johnson, Brandon Tate, Alex Tate, and Destiny Gonzalez; great grandson, Jayden Tate; siblings, Joyce Stewart (George), Sharon Tart (Eddie Haynes), and Ronald Tart.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Virginia Porch, brothers, Jimmy Tart and Ernest Tart.

A Celebration of Life will be held to honor her remarkable life and legacy at Grace Baptist Church 2200 Auten Rd. Gastonia, NC, officiated by Pastors David MacEachern and Johnny Yarboro, on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 1:00 pm. A visitation will be held at the church 1 hour prior to the service.

Barbara's memory will live on in the hearts of her loved ones, and she will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, and unwavering support to those around her.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Baptist Church Family Life Center.
