Obituary

Obituary for Dad,

With a heavy heart, Arthur Manuel Martinez Sr. Born in Pueblo Colorado, at the age of 74 took this last breath and joined his loved ones in heaven on the 5th of October 2026, in Bessemer City, NC. with his daughter Brandy & his Grandson Khaleel by his side. With Art's departure we remember a life filled of generosity, love, fun times and laughter.

Art is rejoined in heaven with his loving parents Donaciano & Celia Martinez, his son Arthur Manuel Martinez Jr & his 8th grade sweetheart who eventually became his wife, Sandra.

In addition, he is also preceded by his Paternal parent Martin Martinez Sr, half-brother Fernando Martinez, & half-sister Mervine Martinez.

Art is survived by his Daughter Brandy Martinez, two brothers Richard & Donald Martinez, six grandchildren, Khaleel Martinez, Kayla Judd, Kenzy & Khristian Mayhew, Alisia & Julia Martinez & 5 great grandchildren. Two nieces Arora & Schlyce, an uncle and aunts and a host of cousins that he loved like siblings. He is also survived by several paternal half siblings Tom, Ronald, Jerry, Michael & Martin Martinez Jr. & their families.

Art was truly a " Brilliant Jack of all Trades" from being Honorably discharged from the air force in this youth, a gifted lead & rhythm guitarist who loved to play Latin Oldies and Spanish music with his band. He was a painter and creative artist, a chef, chemist engineer, general contractor & designer and let's not forget a jokester, comedian that left us a lifetime of fun memories full of his shenanigans!!!

Art was a devoted brother, friend & single father to my brother & I. He was truly a kid at heart that filled my life with adventures, elaborate holiday decorations, he loved taking us dancing to "Embers" in Portland Oregan, survival camping & fishing around Mt St Helen's & Mt Hood, cooking, baseball games, town events, weekly walks to the mall or swap meets and was an avid 3x a week movie goer. A fun yet embarrassing Washington state to California road trips to where he and my brother would trade off mooning passing cars as we traveled to Magic Mountain or Disneyland! He loved to just hop in his car and travel across state lines to surprise a family member that he hasn't seen in a while.

Leaving behind the warmest memory of the father he was is after not seeing him due to long 12hr rotating work shifts being serenaded, guitar in hand to "Daddy's Home" by Shep & The Limelites.

A celebration of life will be held in our hearts across the country. In lieu of flowers the family welcomes donations to $HalfBrainedkidsRule through cashapp.
