Rev. Arson K. Dixon

December 29, 1927 — May 2, 2016

Rev. Arson K. Dixon of Gastonia went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2016.

He was born December 29, 1927, a native of Gaston County, the son of the late Arson Hubert Dixon and Mary Jenkins Dixon.

Arson was a veteran of the US Navy.  He loved his family, the Lord and spreading the Gospel for over 55 years.  The family wishes to send a special thank you to Charles and Betty Church and John and Judy Cannon.

Left to cherish Arsons memories are his loving wife of over 67 years Kathleen Crisp Dixon; daughters Marlene Barber and husband Lewis, Annette Mangum and husband Mike and Janet Deborah Dixon; sisters Carolyn Griffin, Shirley Roberts, Linda King, Bobbi Kinley, Sue Cloninger and husband Barry; sister-in-law Carol Dixon; grandchildren Shane Barber, Tanya Poole and husband Bill and Colby and Adam Mangum.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers Rush, Harold and Ted Dixon and sister Betty Wilson.

A funeral service will be held 3 pm Thursday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Jason Dowdell.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
