Annie Bell Hughes

Gastonia - Annie Bell Harris Hughes, 94, passed away March 11, 2015 at the Robin Johnson House, formerly of Brookdale Nursing Home. She was a native of Cherokee County. She is survived by children, John (Judy) Hughes of Salisbury, Sam (Barbara) Hughes of Clover, SC, Harold Hughes of Kings Mountain, Brenda (Bob) Briand of Clover, SC; sister, Betty Gunter Smith; 21 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, David Everette Hughes; son, Dennis Hughes; parents, Alonzo and Dixie Wallace Harris; brothers James, Luther, Fred Harris; sisters, Edna Roberts, Elva Payne, Hazel Kimsey and Baby Every. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Saturday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastors Tim Robbins and Jeff Cook. Visitation will be 6 -8 pm Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Westview Gardens. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice (The Robin Johnson House) PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
