Ann Ellis

Ann Ellis, 80, of Belmont, passed away October 16, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

A native of Alamance County, NC, Ann was born October 22, 1940, to the late Robert and Katie Lasley.

Ann loved animals and was a big supporter of the ASPCA.

She loved her family, mountain trips, arts and crafts, and was a big Elvis fan.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, Leon Franklin; sons, Jimmy, David, and Tommy Franklin; grandson, David Franklin; sister, Laura Wright, and brother, John Grigg.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Donna Smith (Gary); Lisa Funderburk (Jim); grandchildren, Jamie Franklin, Darrell Bean, Allen Smith, Brian Smith, Jessica Franklin, Amanda Dillard, Jerry Franklin, Everette Funderburk; 14 great-grandchildren; and best friends, Angie Bradley, Mildred Smith, and Betty Funderburk.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Barry Philbeck, will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 20, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, October 19, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
