Anita "Miss" Griffie

Gastonia, NC Anita "Miss" Griffie, 50, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at her home. She was born October 23, 1962 in Cleveland County, daughter of Patricia Hughes Costner and Richard Thomas Costner Sr. and the late Jesse Martin. Anita was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a Cosmotology Instructor for 33 years at four different Cosmotology Schools: Paul Mitchell Academy, Komon Academy, Miss Griffie Hair Styling Academy and Gaston College. A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Friday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. She is survived by: her loving husband of 33 years, James Griffie; sons, James Griffie, Jesse Griffie; brother, Richard Costner Jr.; sisters, Patricia Smith, Sandra Meeker and her spouse, Rick; grandchildren, Jakob and Cailey Griffie. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by: a son, Jacob Griffie; a sister, Beverly Kaye Martin. Memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice, P. O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.
