Anita Hamot Cox

Anita Hamot Cox, 81, of Gastonia, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2014 at her residence. She was born September 19, 1932, native of Gaston County, daughter of the late Carl and Colleen Hamot. Anita was a member of the Crowder's Creek ARP Church, Gastonia and a Noble-etts member of the Gaston County Shrine Club. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, James A. Cox, Sr.; son, James A. Cox, Jr. and wife, Kathy; daughter, Susan Cox; grandchildren, James A. Cox III, Caitlin Cox, Carley Burgess Taylor; great-grandchildren, Landon and Tayler. A funeral service will be held 3 pm on Wednesday at Crowder's Creek ARP Church, 207 Crowder's Creek Church Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Charles Evans. Visitation with friends will follow the service. Interment will be at Crowder's Creek ARP Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative of Lincoln County - 107 N. Cedar St., Lincolnton, NC 28092. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
