Andy Lee Helton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Andy Lee Helton, who went home to be with the Lord on September 20, 2025, at the age of 68. Born on October 27, 1956, Andy was a proud resident of Gastonia, NC, where he was known and loved by many.

Andy was a true sports enthusiast, with a passion for football and basketball that ran deep. He was an ardent fan of the Carolina Panthers and could always be found cheering them on during game day. In his younger years, he wrestled in high school, showing his competitive spirit and dedication to athletics. A lifelong fan, he often reminisced about his admiration for wrestling legend Ric Flair.

Throughout his career as a jailer with the county sheriff's office, Andy made a lasting impact on his community, earning the respect and affection of those who knew him. He had a knack for connecting with people and was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a good story.

Andy is survived by his dog, prince.

The friends will hold private services in his honor.

As we remember Andy, let's celebrate his love for sports, his kindness, and the joy he brought to our lives. He has gone home to be with the Lord, but his memory will live on in our hearts.
