Amelia Stroupe Blalock

Amelia Blalock, a beloved member of the Love Valley Baptist Church and known affectionately as "Mawmaw" by many, peacefully passed away at the age of 81 on August 29, 2024, at her home in Kings Mountain, NC.

Amelia, born on May 17, 1943, was a dedicated homemaker to her husband, Gordon Blalock, with whom she shared a beautiful life. Her commitment to family extended beyond her home, as she was deeply involved in her church community, teaching Sunday School and touching many lives with her warmth and wisdom. Amelia's care and love resonated far and wide, as she and her husband selflessly served in the mission field in Romania, embodying their devotion to faith and service.

Left to cherish Amelia's memories are her husband of 62 years, Gordon Blalock; daughter Kem Blalock; sons, Kent Blalock (Holly), Keith Blalock (Tracy); grandchildren, Brittany Lindsay (Michael), Lindsay Perry (Jeffrey), McKenzie Ballinger (David), Zackary Blalock (Haylie), Riley Blalock (Christin), Kylie Blalock; great grandchildren, Ethan, Micah, Faith, and Charity Lindsay, Reese, Raegan, Rhett, and Rowen Perry, Malachi, Katie, Emily, and Everleigh Ballinger, Makynlee Blalock, Aubreigh, Presleigh, and Brenleigh Blalock, and 2 babies on the way; brothers, Jim Stroupe (Jeanette), Roger Stroupe, and Thad Stroupe (Beth).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wink and Dot Stroupe; daughter, Kelly Lee Blalock; great grandson, Josiah David Ballinger.

A visitation will be held at Love Valley Baptist Church, 2032 Bethlehem Rd., Kings Mountain, NC, 28086, on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 4:30 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at 6:30 pm, officiated by Pastor Barry Philbeck. Burial will be held at Gaston Memorial Park.

She will forever be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family. She loved everyone of her family and friends "more than Ritz crackers and peanut butter". Amelia's legacy will live on in the cherished memories of all who knew her.
