Amber "Russell" Faile

Amber "Russell" Faile, 67, of Gastonia, passed away January 15, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

He was born October 3, 1949 in Lancaster, SC, the son of the late Paul Franklin Faile and Lucy Mae Phillips Faile.

Russell was a veteran of the United States Army.    He was an avid Pathers and NASCAR fan.  He enjoyed playing golf and pool.  Russell was a wonderful and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  He was the rock of his family.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 48 years, Gail Faile; sons Jeff Faile and wife Becky, Rusty Faile and Jessie Faile; daughter Amber Faile Hughes and husband James; sister Paulette Black and grandchildren Courtney, Nathan, Kaylee, Brandon, Cheyenne, Priscilla, Kayden, Maddie, Kyla, Destiny; great-grandchildren Carter and Isis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charlie and sisters Shirley and Tootsie.

A funeral service, officiated by Pastor Chris Doster, will be held 2 pm Thursday at Maranatha Baptist Church, 104 Downey Lake Rd., Dallas.

Receiving of friends and family will be held 7 – 9 pm Wednesday at the church.

Burial will be in Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
