Amber Dawn Carpenter

Amber Dawn Carpenter, 37, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2013 at her residence. Amber was born August 26, 1975 in Gaston County, she was the daughter of Joel Douglas Carpenter and the late Debra Wood Smith. A memorial service will be held 3 pm Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia NC. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. She is survived by her son, Hunter Boyd, step-father, Grady Smith, father and his wife Joel and Lisa Carpenter, brothers; Jason Carpenter and wife Jennifer, Joshua Carpenter and wife Jayne, sisters; Jennifer and Kerry Carpenter, grandfather, Dan Wood. In addition to her mother Amber was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Evelyn Carpenter. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Hunter Boyd Education Fund (made payable to NC 529 Plan) 916 Walnut Dr. Jefferson, NC 28640. A guest registry is available at www.greenefuneral.com.
