Allan Harold Evatt

Allan Harold Evatt, 78, of Chester, SC, passed away July 2, 2018 at Piedmont Medical Center.
He was born October 16, 1939 in Gaston County, the son of Pat Evatt and Metta Elrod Evatt.
Allan was a member of West Chester Baptist Church and a member of Ruritan Club. He retired from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School System Maintenance Department after 30 years of service.
He is survived by his loving wife, Martha "Marty" Brookshire Evatt; sons, Pat Evatt and Adam Evatt and wife Lori; step-son, Vince Carrigan and step-daughter, Shelly Clack and husband Jamie; grandchildren, Taylor Evatt, Luke Evatt, Riley Carrigan, Evan Carrigan, Meredith Gibler, Austin Clack, Matthew Clack and Viola Clack; great-grandchildren, Bryson Carrigan and Heidi Gibler; and sisters Mildred Harrington and Hazel Roberts.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carl Evatt and sister, Ernestine Childers.
A funeral service, officiated by the Rev. Jeff Gulish, will be held at 2 pm Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC.
The family will receive friends from 1 – 2 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park.
