Aliyah Gabrielle Nelson

2003 - 2014 Aliyah Gabrielle Nelson, 11, of Gastonia, passed away September 17, 2014. She was born July 3, 2003, native of Gaston County the daughter of Curtis Von Nelson and Cheryl DeMarques of Gastonia. Aliyah was a student at Holbrook Middle School in Lowell. In addition to her parents she is survived by: sister, Israel Nelson of Gastonia; grandmother, Marla Whelchel of Salina, Kansas; aunts, Kari Nelson and Jason Goldman of Lawrence, Kansas; Kimberly and Mario Anest of Texas; Crystal and Karl Pentz of Cramerton; uncles, Christopher DeMarques and Keith Dunn both of Gastonia. She was preceded in death by: grandfathers, William Nelson and Charles DeMarques; grandmother, Wanda Taggart and cousin, Logan Pentz. A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Bethlehem Church, 3100 Bethlehem Church St, Gastonia. Visitation will be 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Gaston Humane Society - PO Box 2334, Gastonia, NC 28053-2334. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
