Alice Marie Skipper

Alice Marie Skipper, 78, of Cramerton, passed away May 12, 2015 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas. She was born August 12, 1936 a native of Gaston County, the daughter of the late, Celia Mae and Howard Richard Long, Jr. Alice attended the East Gaston Adult Day Care in Mt. Holly and was employed with Pharr Yarns for 19 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a child at heart to her great-grandchildren. Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Alice Swayney and husband of the home, Amanda Hoover and husband, Shane of Sanford, NC, Audrey Skipper of Rockwell, NC, Yvonne Skipper and fiancé David of Thomasville, NC; brother, Billy Long and wife, Sherry of Gastonia; sister, Bobbie Daley and husband, Dole of Gastonia; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Skipper; grandsons, Christopher Baker and Justin Hartsell and several brothers and sisters. A gathering of friends and family will be held 6 - 8 pm Thursday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC.
