Faye Ertzberger

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Faye Ertzberger, who left us on February 18, 2026, at the age of 76. Faye was born on July 16, 1949, in Lumberton, NC, but she made her home in Gastonia, NC, where she shared her warmth and love with everyone around her.

Faye was a beloved member of the Dallas Church of God and previously served as the children's church director at East Gastonia Church of God, where her nurturing spirit touched the lives of many little ones. After a fulfilling 30-year career at AT&T as a customer service representative, she later spent time as an administrative assistant at Greene Funeral Service. She was always known for her kindness, patience, and unwavering dedication to her work and her family.

In her free time, Faye enjoyed crafting and exploring antique shops-her love for antiques was only surpassed by her deep faith and love for the Lord. Above all, she was a devoted wife and mother. Faye is survived by her loving son, Stephen Ertzberger, and her second son, Jason Burgess; siblings, Jerry Jernigan (Carolyn), Maurice Jernigan (Zana) and Pat Griffin; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Gaston Memorial Park, located at 1200 S New Hope Rd., Gastonia, NC. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate Faye's life, sharing memories and stories that exemplify the joy she brought into the world.

Faye will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to shine in the hearts of those she loved.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband Daniel "Danny" Ertzberger and her parents Jesse Jernigan and Eula Mae Davis Jernigan.
