Alfred Benoy Bradshaw

Alfred Benoy Bradshaw, 91, of Kings Mountain, passed away March 16, 2022, at the Life Enrichment Center of Kings Mountain.

He was born March 22, 1930, in Gaston County, son of the late Henry Alfred Bradshaw and Carrie Benoy Bradshaw.

He was a member of First Wesleyan Church of Bessemer City.

He was a US Navy veteran.

Alfred worked as a Mt. Holly Police Officer and was a former North Carolina Corrections Officer. He retired from Garlock Industries and Gaston County Courthouse.

He loved baseball, NASCAR, and a good fish fry.

He was a HAM radio operator "W4WDE" from 1952 to his death.

He was a Member of Gastonia Lodge #369, was an Oasis Shriner and a Member of several Shrine clubs and the Oasis Radio Corp.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Monday, March 21, 2022, at First Wesleyan Church, 510 East Alabama Avenue Bessemer City, officiated by Dr. Matt Mitchell.

The family will receive friends 2-3 prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, with Masonic rites provided by Gastonia Lodge 369.

Alfred is survived by daughter, Millie B. Huss and husband Rodney; sister, Doris Jean Bradshaw; grandchildren, Leigh Huss Gibson, (Warren), Rodney David Huss Jr. (Melissa), Brad Huss (Jada), great-grandchildren, Greylen Gibson (Kaitylyn), Weston Gibson, Locklen Gibson, Justin Taylor, Kaylan Lawrence, Dawson Huss, Zhria Proctor, Carrie Huss, Jacob Huss, Hayden Huss, Wyatt Huss, Ava Huss.

In addition to his parents, Alfred was preceded in death by his wife,  Mildred "Polly" Moore Bradshaw; daughter, Peggy Joyce Bradshaw; brother, Roy Don Bradshaw; sisters Lois Bradshaw Ballard and Frances Bradshaw Wilson.

Memorials may be sent to Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, 600 College Street Oxford, NC 27565.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, Gastonia.
