Alexander Lee Waterson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alexander Lee Waterson, a beloved son, husband, stepfather, and friend, who left us on January 23, 2025, at the age of 38. Born on October 26, 1986, in Lincoln County, NC, Alex was a bright light in the lives of those who knew him.

Living in Gastonia, Alex worked as a Quality Control Tech, where his attention to detail made a real impact. He was known for his warm smile and the way he connected with everyone, making friends wherever he went.

Alex had a special place in his heart for animals and shared his home with two cherished cats, Stormy and Rosie, who brought him immense joy. He will be remembered for his kindness, his positivity, and his ability to lift others up.

His love for his family was boundless. Left to cherish Alex's memories are his wife, Jennifer Contreras; stepdaughter, Zoe Rankin-Contreras; dad, Lanny Waterson; sister, Dana Roper; nephew, Austin Peeler; niece, Addison Peeler; dear friend, Josh Malina.

Alex was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Waterson.

To honor Alex's memory, a visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at Greene Funeral Service South Chapel. Family, friends, and all who knew him are encouraged to come and share stories, laughter, and love in his remembrance. A graveside service will follow on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Westview Gardens, where we will lay him to rest with his mother.

Alex's spirit and the memories we share will remain in our hearts forever. He truly was a friend to everyone, and he will be deeply missed.
