Alex Wilson Jr.

Alex Wilson Jr., 75, of Bessemer City, passed away February 13, 2025, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

He was born on January 18, 1950, in Jackson County, NC, son of the late Alex Wilson Sr. and Opal Shook Wilson.

Alex loved being outdoors enjoying nature, watching the birds in the birdbath and doing yard work. He loved to watch Western movies, and he loved to cheer on his favorite driver in NASCAR.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Monday, February 17, 2025, At Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Richard Cole.

The family will receive friends 2-3 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

The burial will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Alex is survived by daughter, Lori Haney (Lee); brothers, Paul Wilson, Allen Wilson (Debbie); sisters, Sharon Withers (jerry), Brenda Owens (Donnie), Tammy Rucker (Tommy); grandchildren, Cory Ross, Joshua Ross, Alexis Haney, Carly Haney, Gracie Haney; great-grandchildren, Julie-ana Ross, Maddelynn Deal, Ashlynn Ross, Paislynn Deal, Grayson Proctor, Santana Ross; honorary granddaughter, Monica Barnes.

In addition to his parents, Alex was Preceded in death by his first wife, Ruby Hutchens Wilson; second wife, Jean Inman Wilson; brother, Robert Wilson; sisters, Vanessa Chitwood; grandchild, Ruby Haney.
