It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Albert Francis Monda Jr., who left us on September 4, 2026, at the age of 64. Born on July 15,1962, in Ashtabula, Ohio, Al made his way to Gastonia, North Carolina. His life was filled with love, laughter, and passion.
Not only was Al an accomplished executive manager in the plastics and rubber manufacturing industry, but he was also exceedingly educated. He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, another Bachelor's in Business Administration, and most recently earned his Master's in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He was always committed to learning more, providing for his family, and displaying excellence in his field.
A true sports enthusiast, Al had an unwavering love for college football, cheering passionately for the USC Trojans. He loved hunting and was very committed to running. He enjoyed staying active, embracing the outdoors, and challenging his personal best records. He had a patriotic spirit that shone brightly, as he cherished his country and instilled traditional values in those whom he loved. He was known for his sense of humor and always had a joke ready for anybody who knew him.
Al was especially proud of his three beautiful Shelties - Simba, Shelby, and Sadie - who brought him endless joy and companionship.
Left to cherish Al's memories are his wife of 37 years, Kristine Monda; daughter, Courtney Foreman (John); brother, Lawrence Monda (Janet); sister, Rebecca Leonard (John).
Al was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Sr. and Pauline Monda.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Michael Catholic Church in Gastonia, NC on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at 11:00am. We humbly ask for your prayers for the repose of his soul and for strength and peace for his family.
